Whether you have worked with a Personal Trainer before or not there are always lots of questions, which we encourage. Here are some of the more regular ones we are asked.
What to expect when you start training.
When you arrive for your initial session with your Personal Trainer you will fill out a pre-exercise questionnaire. It is important to let us know of any injuries or health issues you have currently or in the past. We will then discuss your health and fitness goals so an effective, individualised exercise program can be devised.
The first session could also incorporate a functional assessment of you to ensure there is no injury issues or body imbalances that may injure you or stop your training program. The main objective of this session is for us to assess how you move and your current level of fitness.
How can a Personal Trainer help me?
One of the main benefits of Personal Training is the ongoing motivation you will receive from your Trainer. It is much harder to skip your workout when you know there is someone at the gym waiting for you! Your trainer also has the knowledge and experience to prescribe the correct exercises for your goals and fitness level and to ensure that you are performing them with perfect technique.
Where do sessions happen?
A training session can take place anywhere that is convenient to both you and the trainer. Some people prefer the open space and the outdoors. So here we can meet in a local park or beach. Others enjoying working out at home or some prefer to exercise in our studio environment on the lower north shore or a mixture of all these. There is no wrong or right, only your preference.
What do I need to bring?
You should wear loose, light workout gear. A t-shirt or singlet, shorts and a good pair of gym shoes. A drink bottle and towel are also essential while training. A warm jacket for after the session is also a great idea. Above you need to bring a great attitude to get the most out of each session.
When can I do the sessions?
You can do your sessions at any time that is convenient to you and your trainer. We have flexible training times to fit around your busy lives of work and recreation.
Why should I get a Personal Trainer?
People use personal trainers (PTs) to assist them reach their individual health and fitness goals. A personal trainer will tailor an exercise program to meet your goals and personal health needs, teach you the best way to exercise and motivate you.
What is the role of a Personal Trainer?
